Unframed Ice Cream

Yann Rey left investment banking in New York to open Unframed on Kloof Street in 2016, developing its recipes with French ice-cream master Stéphane Augé. Every flavour is engineered from scratch in small batches from natural ingredients in the Woodstock kitchen.

The vegan and sorbet range is rated as highly as the dairy — Big Seven Travel once named Unframed the best ice cream parlour in the world — and the scoop counters have spread to six spots across the city.
